North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Manteo, NC

The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island in Manteo features a wide variety of fun, entertaining and educational attractions. There are many indoor exhibits as well as outdoor nature areas to explore at the Aquarium, and you can participate in a variety of special events and activities held daily and seasonally. The indoor exhibits at the Aquarium consist of tanks and recreated habitat areas that house a variety of aquatic creatures. Marine animals as well as creatures that inhabit brackish and freshwater environments are on display. Touch pools invite hands-on interactions with several sea creatures including rays and hermit crabs. Videos showcasing marine life as well as live animal programs and demonstrations are held daily at the Roanoke Aquarium. Alligators, snakes and sea turtles are some of the animals featured in live programs. In addition, you can watch feedings scheduled throughout the day and participate in fun, educational games at the Aquarium.
