Introduction to Portable electrical appliances
Portable electrical appliances are the equipment that can be moved very easily and are free from any fixation point and are not permanently wired into the buildings etc. This definition of PAT Testing creates bit confusion to understand it properly. So, the easiest and best definition for a portable electrical appliance is that it is the thing which is specifically designed to get moved while connected to a flow of electricity.
The PAT testing regulations are not just stricted to equipment testing. Also, the employer or PAT Testers has the responsibility of any of the electrical equipment brought onto same premises.
