Anytime I do something myself, I get an incredible sense of accomplishment from it.  Recently, I started building my own solar panels and wind turbines so I can save more money on my energy costs.  I was able to cheaply and effectively build a full home made renewable energy system (with a little help from my family) so I can start not only conserving energy, but also start putting more money back every month from the savings.  To me, it is as much about going green as it is about saving money.  If you are interested, I highly recommend this for you.
