What government regulations affect your field?
Another important aspect of the business intelligence researching process is to discover what government regulations may currently impact how your company does business. For example, if your company is involved in outdoor construction, they need to understand what types of documents will need to be filed with the EPA. Other areas where government regulations affect business include worker hiring, firing, compensation, workman’s comp, discrimination and affirmative action — and let’s not forget tax reporting requirements. Not keeping abreast of the latest government decisions and requirements may expose your organization to financial penalties and even jail sentences for violations of the law!
