The credit crunch means saying “Yes” to travel insurance!

According to the article “EHIC cardholders still need travel insurance!” we need to stop taking risks. By not purchasing travel insurance, we are not saving money but instead placing ourselves at risk of serious financial devastation.

Everybody says, you have to get travel insurance when you travel. The thing is to save money we are always on the look out for ways to ‘cut corners’. We are currently lurking, the best we can, through the credit crunch and the mood has never been more engaged with the attitude of saving money. It is no surprise then that when informed of the EHIC card – a measure to ensure our medical expenses would be taken care of when in Europe, we all rejoiced and counted the extra pennies in our pockets. The reality is, that not only will the EHIC fall short of covering the cost of our medical care, it by no means replaces the need for travel insurance.
