Leave Some Older Items on Your Credit Report

It is not always a good idea to have certain items deleted from your credit report, even if they have been on the report for more than seven years. One of the factors which goes towards determining your credit score is the length of time that you have had credit. If you delete the oldest information, potential creditors will not be able to see how well you handled your finances and credit that was extended to you over a period of time. So, even if you closed the account many years ago, you might want to let it remain to help boost your score.
