I am not sure how the salesman that called me knew how little traffic my site received.  I suppose there are plenty of tools that companies can use to locate webmasters that have sites that need a lot of help.  I received the call last week from a Michigan SEO firm that promised me great things.  They told me they would optimize my site so I would start receiving lots and lots of free traffic from the search engines.  They are also capable of doing the necessary promotion for the site.  I am very tempted to hire them, but want some sort of assurance that it will work.
